Navient Proposal Writer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Duncan Solutions is looking for a Proposal Writer to join their Sales team in our Milwaukee, WI office.

The Proposal Writer is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all company responses to Request for Proposal (RFP) from clients or new prospective business. This individual will collaborate with other team members on custom projects as assigned.

  • Project Work

  • Required to work closely with proposal manager when responding to RFP

  • Lead writer responsible for compiling an accurate response to RFP's.

  • Edits or proofreads all RFP materials for purpose, clarity, completeness, grammar, etc.

  • Independent decision making in order to creatively and effectively compose all responses to RFP's and RFI's

  • Responsible for explaining, simplifying, and condensing information from multiple department sources; track deadlines and ensure key approvers respond and their feedback is incorporated.

  • Organize questions on RFP requirements from internal departments and submit to proposal manager for review prior to sending to prospect

  • Maintain proposal schedule and monitor progress.

  • Maintain all boilerplate materials utilized by the company.

  • Read and comprehend all RFI and RFP related correspondence.

  • Summarize proposals for management review.

  • Communicate with various departments and staff concerning proposal content.

  • Occasional travel to per-proposal conferences may be required.

  • Reporting

  • Assist proposal manager in preparing accurate reports detailing the number of proposals submitted monthly

  • Create summary reports detailing high level facts on RFP prospects

  • Create summary reports detailing debriefing notes on RFP's submitted to prospective clients including suggestions for improvements/enhancements to current materials and/or process.

  • Department Support

  • Responsible for updating RFP library as necessary and under the direction of the proposal manager

  • Assist the sales department in responding to informal requests for information on company

  • Ad-hoc and/or special requests from sales, marketing or other departments.

  • Complete production of RFP's including printing, bidding, shipping, etc to meet deadlines.

  • Customer Service

  • Responsive to customer needs and follow through all aspects of request, both written and verbal.

  • Send follow up summaries and reports to other departments as directed by proposal manager

  • Other duties as assigned by Director, New Business Development and/or Proposal Manager

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Writing or English or additional equivalent experience above the minimum

  • 1-3 years' experience in specialized writing or RFP writing

  • Creativity along with high level initiative

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Products (Office Suite and other applicable graphic software)

  • High level of accuracy and detail oriented

  • Multi-task oriented with the ability to prioritize work load

  • Demonstrated proficiency in creating and distributing a variety of corporate messages, dealing with a variety of management levels, areas and personalities

  • Exceptional writing, editing, organization and project management skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure, problem solving. manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and cooperate with individuals at all levels of the organization including consultants, support staff and team members.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in the payment processing, finance or banking industry

  • Experience with RFP writingAll offers of employment are contingent on standard background checks.
