THIS POSITION RESIDES IN HAWAII. REMOTE POSITION

NEED TO TRAVEL OCCASIONALLY TO KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII.

Xtend Healthcare is looking for a Supervisor, Patient Business Services. This position will be responsible for leading a team of professionals that provide business office functions for the hospital and its clinics.

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Overseeing Patient Access and Registration, Scheduling, cash posting, cashiering, reconciliation management of the business office

  • Overseeing financial counseling, charity care, self-pay monitoring, collection agency management/referrals

  • Overseeing customer call center for patients’ inquiries, payments, and general assistance

  • Overseeing correspondence (mail) management (scanning)

  • Performs special projects for Leadership and/or the Client

JOB SUMMARY:

Project Work:

  • Assigning and managing workflow.

  • Reviews staff audit reports and summaries to ensure accuracy.

  • Acts as a back up to staff for clients as needed.

Personnel Management:

  • Staffing, orientation, and training.

  • Leading staff on completion of daily work tasks.

  • Evaluating performance and carrying out improvement activities.

  • Holds team meetings and attends all departmental management meetings.

  • Manages team members to Xtend policies and procedures.

Customer Service:

  • Client liaison to communicate account inquiries, escalated matters, tends and industry news.

  • Manages patient satisfaction regarding patient registration process.

  • Assures accuracy and patient satisfaction for scheduling.

    Analysis/Reporting:

  • Identifies trends and reports to Project Leaders.

  • Identifies educational webinars/documentation for staff.

  • Identifies staff who do not meet productivity standards weekly.

  • Using reporting to identify gaps and making continuous improvements.

Miscellaneous Tasks:

  • Completion of staff productivity and scoring where applicable.

  • Completion/Approval of Workday time-keeping reports daily and bi-weekly.

  • Completion of random reports/tasks needed by Project Manager/Director/AVP

MINMIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma

  • Previous Management experience minimum of one year ( additional equivalent education above the required minimum may substitute for the required level of experience)

  • Registration experience

  • EPIC experience

  • Working Excel and Microsoft Office products knowledge

  • Be able to manage a 7 day/week staff

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An understanding of healthcare billing practices and compliant claims preparation for both governmental and commercial payers.

  • Experience with banking, reconciliation, accounting, and general business office operations a plus.

  • Revenue Cycle Certifications: The following are recognized professional certifications: Certified Professional Account Representative (CPAR), Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) or Certified Professional Biller (CPB).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills

  • Business writing skills

  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information

  • Strong planning, problem-solving and analytical skills
